  • Emissions factor for Diesel, Petrol, LPG, and Waste are sourced from DEFRA, 2025.
  • Emissions factor for Electricity are sourced from Energy Commission of Malaysia, 2024.
  • Number of trees required to offset emissions is sourced from Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO).

 

To estimate consumption, you may refer to the following statistics as guidance:

  • Petrol price (unsubsidised RON95) as of end May 2026 is RM3.92/litre.
  • Diesel price as of end May 2026 is RM4.87/litre.
  • Highest TNB residential tariff rate effective Jan 2014 is RM0.571/kWh.
  • Malaysians generate an average of 1.17kg of solid waste per person per day.

Example of unit conversion: 154Wh/km is equal to 15.4 kWh/100km
Estimated emissions include vehicle emissions from combustion of fuels and emissions from electricity charge for plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. Vehicle Certification Agency of the UK government deems cars that produce less than 100 grams of CO2 for every 1 kilometre travelled as Low Emission cars. "Ultra-Low Emission" cars are those cars that in tests, produce less than 75 grams of CO2 for every 1 Kilometre travelled.
